Description

1886 Russian Empire postal stationery card (3-kopeck imprinted stamp) sent from Riga to Fellin (Livonia Governorate, present-day Viljandi, Estonia). The card features multiple crisp circular postmarks from Riga (dated March 7-8) and a clear Fellin arrival strike from March 9, 1886. It bears a distinctive violet oval cachet of the prominent Riga firm "W. EICKERT / RIGA". The reverse side contains a handwritten business message in German regarding the dispatch of ordered goods.
