Description
A visually striking 1920 international letter sent from Liepāja (Latvia) to Sweden, with subsequent forwarding to Germany. The sender is listed on the reverse as Dr. E. Waeber from Libau (Liepāja). The cover boasts a spectacular and heavy franking of 8 early Latvian Republic "Sun" design stamps, cancelled by clear "LEEPAJA / LATWIJA" datestamps on June 10, 1920. The reverse features a Swedish arrival postmark from Strängnäs dated June 16. Manuscript notes on the front detail the letter's receipt and immediate forwarding on June 17 to a family member in Lübeck, Germany.
