Description
The company Roman Plewkiewicz & Co., known for its silver-plated items made in Warsaw, operated from 1886 until around 1935. It initially began as a partnership with WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik), importing semi-finished WMF products from Geislingen, which were then finished in Warsaw and sold throughout the Russian Empire. The company underwent a reorganization in 1900, becoming Plewkiewicz i Ska, a full subsidiary of WMF. This change marked a significant evolution in the company's operations and structure.
The firm's silver-plated items were highly sought after, similar in demand to the original pieces coming from Württemberg. The items produced by Plewkiewicz were notable for their quality and design, which continued to be appreciated by collectors even after the company ceased operations.
