Description
S. Antonov was born in Riga and studied architecture in Riga and Petersburg. In the 1920s S. Antonov returned to Riga and taught at the architectural faculty of the University of Latvia till 1954. He took part in numerous architectural competitions and won high awards for his projects, such as the building of the editorial office of the newspaper "Segodnya", the restaurant "Lido" on the Riga seaside, and the cinema "Renaissance" in Riga. From 1925 to 1940-ies S. Antonov worked as an artist decorator in the Russian theatre.
He manifested himself as a gifted artist painting landscapes, still life, did graphic works.
