Description

The Porcelain Factory Plaue, associated with the Schierholz name, has a rich history dating back to its foundation in 1817 by Christian Gottfried Schierholz in Plaue, Thuringia, Germany. Initially founded as a pottery, it underwent several name changes and expansions over the years. By 1829, it became known as C.G. Schierholz & Son Porcelain Manufactory Plaue, and around 1900, it transitioned to Von Schierholz's Porcelain Manufactory Plaue GmbH.

The factory is renowned for its production of high-quality porcelain items, including electric porcelain chandeliers, candelabra, lamps, and some steins. A significant change occurred in 1972 when the company was nationalized and became VEB Porcelain Manufactory Plaue. This was a period during which it started using the mark "PMP," first introduced in 1974. Following the reunification of Germany, the company reverted to its previous name, Von Schierholz's Porcelain Manufactory Plaue GmbH, and continues to operate today as Porzellanmanufaktur Plaue, Ltd.

Throughout its history, the Porcelain Factory Plaue has maintained a reputation for exquisite craftsmanship and design, contributing to its lasting legacy in the world of fine porcelain.
