Description

A WWII parcel dispatch note (Paketkarte) from the Reichskommissariat Ostland period, mailed on September 20, 1943, from Rozalimas (Lithuania) to Hannover, Germany. This document holds immense historical significance: the heavy 11.6 kg wooden box (Holzkiste) was addressed to a Lithuanian (Juozas Čepas) at a forced labor camp (Gemeinschaftslager). Due to the heavy weight, the card features a spectacular mass franking of 3.70 RM, comprising 11 Hitler stamps with the "OSTLAND" overprint (nine 40pf and two 5pf values), all tied by crisp Rozalimas datestamps.
