Description
In 1898-1904 studied at the Academy of fine arts in the Studio of Ilya Repin. He painted the subjects of the Russian and world history, household composition, portraits, landscapes. He was the official painter of maritime Ministry, he painted a few paintings with the episodes of the Russian-Japanese war. In addition, K. A. Veshchilov was interested in scenograpfy, he requisitioned scene and made sketches of costumes and decorations for the Literary-artistic society's theatre, the Theatre of musical drama. In 1916 Veshchilov was elected as academician of the Academy of arts. In 1922 the artist emigrated to France, where in 1927 he had a personal exhibition. In the mid-1930's he moved to the United States. In 1937 in Chicago was organized an exhibition of K. Veshchilov's works. In addition,he organized a personal exhibition in the Gallery of the Metropolitan in New York.
